As with all Hollywood stuff, I suspect that is not an accurate portrayal of helicopter controls. All helicopters with dual controls have controls exactly alike on both sides, so anything you can do from the left, you can do from the right. Mr. AUDU, in the military the right seat is the command seat, that is where the instructor sits. When the student gets his wings, he gets the command seat. The collective lever is on the left of the pilot, so flying from the left seat would require you to switch hands with the cyclic to tune the radios.
