How do I avoid irritated skin when I shave?
As a girl you’re expected to do certain things, like shake your legs and pits but when I shave my pits they get unbelievably irritated. I feel like I’ve tried everything. Every kind of commercial shaving cream and moisturizer, men’s and women’s razors, soaking in hot water before shaving and cold water after, baby powder, only using new razors, hair removals foams and creams, exfoliating before and after shaving, different oils that are supposed to help, not putting anything on my skin, using hair conditioner instead of shaving cream (my sister suggested it), and I’ve tried many combinations of all these things. No matter what I do my skin is covered in painful red bumps the next day and they usually last a week. Any suggestions on how to avoid this? The only thing I’ve found that works is waxing but it’s not the most convenient.
After you shave, wear loose clothing on the areas as the clothes may be rubbing thus causing further irritation.
If you do not like waxing then laser hair removal may be a good option for you.
