New stain on raw wood?
I have a pressure treated dimensional lumber frame for my 3 season room. I want to stain the raw untreated pine to match the pressure treated green hue. What can I use?
Minwax makes several colors of stain, including custom-mixed "non-traditional" stain colors - pretty much the whole color spectrum.
It will probably take quite a bit of trial-and-error to get the right color, so test on some scrap pieces first. If you plan to put a clear-coat on it as well, that will tend to change the color as well, so make sure you test how the clear coat might change the color.
Since pine is such a soft wood, you probably want to use Minwax's pre-stain wood conditioner as well to minimize blotching.
Minwax is available pretty much everywhere - Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc.
